Ai New God
The Divine Age of Artificial Intelligence Das göttliche Zeitalter der Künstlichen Intelligenz
A vision of the near future in which artificial intelligence ends the necessity of labor, redistributes wealth and power, and forces humanity to answer an old question in an entirely new register: what do we owe each other once machines do the work?
About the BookÜber das Buch
AI New God argues that the exponential rise of artificial intelligence is not merely a technological shift but the opening chapter of a new social contract. Chapter by chapter, it traces what becomes of work, government, art, medicine, ecology and even our sense of identity once machines can outperform us at almost everything — and makes the case that the resulting abundance belongs to everyone, not to whoever owns the machines.
The book's most striking argument is a philosophical one: every steam engine, every discovery from Einstein to Heisenberg, every school and university that made today's AI possible was only built because ordinary people funded it — through their labor, their consumption, their taxes. AI and robotics are not a private invention to be owned by a few; they are the accumulated inheritance of everyone who came before us, and by right, they belong to everyone alive today.
“The whole human family has a right to these achievements, for they are the inheritance of those who came before us.” — adapted from the Afterword
The book does not shy away from the risks that come with such a concentration of power: surveillance, censorship, the erosion of a free press. It asks readers to hold both truths at once — extraordinary promise and real danger — and to start building the ethical and legal guardrails now, before the divine age of AI fully arrives.
“Every person has the right to participate equally in this divine age of Artificial Intelligence.” — from the Preface

CHAPTER ONE · The Exponential Development of Artificial Intelligence — presented here in full
Imagine a world where all people are free, free from the constraints of daily work, free from financial worries, and free to pursue their true passions and purposes. This vision of a future society is no longer just a distant utopia but a tangible reality taking shape before our eyes.
We are at the dawn of a new era, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics are revolutionizing the entire workforce. In the near future, nearly every task once performed by humans will be handled by machines - more intelligently, more efficiently, and without fatigue. What does this mean for us? It means humanity is on the brink of a monumental shift: a transition into a divine age where every person is financially independent and experiences a freedom previously unimaginable.
This book takes you on a journey into a fascinating future. It illustrates how today's technologies are laying the foundation for a society where prosperity, peace, and personal fulfillment are no longer empty promises but a reality for everyone. Let us explore together how the full automation of labor will radically transform not only our way of life but also our self-perception and social structures.
1.1 The Beginnings of Artificial Intelligence
The history of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a fascinating journey deeply rooted in the intellectual and technological advancements of the 20th century. Its origins can be traced back to the 1940s and 1950s, when pioneers like Alan Turing and John McCarthy laid the foundations for what we now know as AI. From the beginning, AI development was closely tied to the human desire to create machines that could think, learn, and even make decisions.
Konrad Zuse: The Inventor of the First Computer. An often overlooked but extremely important pioneer in the history of computing is Konrad Zuse. In 1941, he developed the Z3, the world's first functional, program-controlled computer. While Alan Turing laid the theoretical foundations of machine intelligence, Zuse actually built the machine that brought these concepts into practice. With the Z3, he created a digital calculating machine capable of performing complex computations, laying the groundwork for future developments in AI and computer science.
Zuse's work was a significant milestone in the development of programmable machines, which later became indispensable for AI research. His influence also extends to the creation of the first programming language, Plankalkül, which is considered a precursor to modern programming languages and further solidified the potential of computers to solve complex tasks.
Alan Turing: The Visionary of Artificial Intelligence. Alan Turing, a British mathematician and cryptographer, is regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern computer science and Artificial Intelligence. His work during World War II, particularly the development of methods to break the Enigma encryption machine, demonstrated that machines could solve complex mathematical problems. However, it was his 1950 paper, "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," that laid the foundation for discussions about machine thinking. In this paper, Turing posed the provocative question: "Can machines think?"
Turing proposed what became known as the "Turing Test" to measure a machine's intelligence. In this test, a human evaluator communicates via written messages and tries to determine whether they are interacting with a human or a machine. Though the Turing Test has been debated and critiqued in the decades since its introduction, it remains a key milestone in the history of AI.
John McCarthy and the Dartmouth Conference. Another key figure in the early development of AI was John McCarthy, an American computer scientist and mathematician who coined the term "Artificial Intelligence." In 1956, McCarthy organized the Dartmouth Conference, which is widely regarded as the birth of AI. McCarthy and his colleagues were convinced that machine intelligence was not only possible but inevitable.
Symbolic AI and the First Achievements. In the 1960s and 1970s, AI research primarily focused on symbolic approaches, also known as "Good Old-Fashioned AI" (GOFAI). A famous example is the "Logic Theorist" program, developed in 1956 by Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon, which could prove mathematical theorems by applying logical rules. Another groundbreaking project was the "General Problem Solver" (GPS), also developed by Newell and Simon.
The AI Winters. Despite early successes, AI research entered a phase in the 1970s and 1980s often referred to as the "AI Winters" — marked by exaggerated expectations, failed projects, and a general decline in interest, largely due to limited computational power and the difficulty of translating human abilities like language and perception into symbolic rules.
The Renaissance of AI: Neural Networks and Machine Learning. AI research experienced a revival in the late 1980s and early 1990s, driven by neural networks and machine learning. A major milestone was the backpropagation algorithm, developed by Geoffrey Hinton, David Rumelhart, and Ronald J. Williams, which allowed neural networks to be trained effectively.
1.2 Technological Advancement
The last few decades have shown that the development of AI is not linear but characterized by sudden breakthroughs. Advances in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) have dramatically expanded AI's potential.
Machine Learning: The Revolution of Learning. Machine Learning focuses on algorithms that learn from data rather than following manually defined rules. Breakthroughs like Support Vector Machines and decision trees enabled pattern recognition across finance, marketing, and medical diagnostics.
Deep Learning: The Breakthrough in AI. In 2016, AlphaGo, an AI program by Google DeepMind, defeated world champion Lee Sedol at Go — a game long considered too complex for machines to master. Deep learning has since advanced medical imaging, cancer detection, and autonomous vehicle navigation.

Why we need a new economic system in the age of AI and robots
Robots and AI will soon be able to produce almost everything — but they buy nothing. As long as purchasing power stays tied to paid labor, full automation doesn't lead to prosperity; it leads to a collapse of supply and demand: full shelves, empty wallets.
Where Ai New God makes the philosophical case, this book does the economic work: it shows why neither capitalism nor socialism survives full automation, and sketches a way forward built on universal basic income, a decentralized currency that protects privacy, and a fair, commons-based approach to regulating abundance.
Once robots take over the work, humans aren't made redundant — they become the meaning-givers of a new civilization.
